(LEBANON, Ill., May 12)—Senior distance runner
Hannah Inyart (Belleville, IL/Belleville East) will be the lone representative for the McKendree University women's track and field program next week at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships. The three-day meet will be held May 21-23 on the campus of Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich.
Inyart will compete in the 10,000-meter run at the NCAA meet. She punched her ticket to the NCAA Championship with a school-record performance at the distance at the Mt. SAC Relays held last month at Mt. San Antonio College in California. Inyart crossed the finish line in a final time of 35:28.16, which was more than 30 seconds ahead of the old McKendree mark set by Sarah Korir back in 1999.
The 10,000-meter finals will be one of the final events to be held on the first day of competition at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The women's race is slated to be contested at 8:10 p.m. ET (7:10 p.m. CT) on May 21.
This will mark the first appearance for Inyart at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
