Women’s Bowling Adds Alexandra Ross During Early Signing Period

(LEBANON, Ill., Nov. 21)—McKendree University women's bowling coach Shannon O'Keefe has announced the signing of Alexandra Ross for the Bearcats' 2017-18 roster. Ross signed to bowl for the Bearcats during the recent early signing period.

Ross, who is from Greenwood, Ind., is in her senior season at Greenwood Christian Academy. As a junior for the Cougars in 2015-16, she led the state of Indiana with a 211 average. Ross posted a two-game series high of 459 with a 258 high game for the season. She was named the 2016 ISUSBCYA Female Bowler of the Year and was selected as a member of the Indiana All-Star Team.

As a freshman, Ross burst onto the Indiana high school scene by winning the Indiana State High School Bowling Girls' Singles state championship. She was named first-team All-State for her efforts. Ross also helped lead GCA to a sectional championship in 2015. Ross is a three-time All-Regional honoree.

In addition, Ross is a two-time Ohio Future Stars champion and a four-time Indiana Youth Scholarship Bowling Tour champion.

"We are so excited to have Alexandra join the McKendree family," said O'Keefe. "She is a great addition to our program for many reasons. Alexandra is extremely talented and has proven that throughout her high school career. She is also open-minded and eager to learn every time she steps onto the lanes. We cannot wait for Alexandra to arrive next fall and begin competing with us."

The McKendree University women's bowling team has competed in two NCAA in-season tournament so far in 2016-17. The Bearcats won the Crusader Classic in October and posted a runner-up finish earlier this month at the Warhawk Invitational.
