(LEBANON, Ill., Feb. 15) – The McKendree University men's track and field program sent a partial squad to Indianapolis, IN Saturday for the Tom Hathaway Distance Carnival hosted by the University of Indianapolis.
The Bearcats totaled seven top-five finishes in 17 scored events, although McKendree did not participate in every event.
Sophomore
Kevin Witcik (Machesney Park, IL/Harlem) took home a second place finish in the 60-meter posting a time of 7.07 seconds.
Freshman
Tyree Allen (Country Club Hills, IL/Hillcrest) also landed a second place finish in the 400-meter with a time of 51.71 seconds. He was joined by freshman
Tyler Johnson (South Holland, IL/St. Rita) who placed fourth.
Freshman
Christian Neal (Bloomington, IL/Bloomington) cracked the top five in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.72 seconds, good enough for a fourth place finish.
In the field sophomore
Alex McCrite (Tamms, IL/Egyptian) continued his streak of top finishes placing second in the High Jump with a height of 1.98-meters.
Freshman
Lafayette Waters (Murrieta, CA/Murrieta Valley) nabbed two top-five finishes, finishing second in the Long Jump with a distance of 6.72-meters and placing fourth in the Triple Jump traveling 12.62-meters.
The Bearcats return to action after a weekend off when they travel to Kenosha, WI for the Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Championships.
