COMPLETE RESULTS
(LEBANON, Ill., March 20)—The McKendree University track and field teams kicked off the outdoor season as each team pulled in a seventh place finish at the Billiken Kickoff Meet hosted by Saint Louis University this weekend. The Bearcats traveled a partial squad with 10 total athletes competing.
Junior
Karis Johnson (Indianapolis, IN/Lawrence Central) and sophomores
Christina Hill (Okawville, IL/Okawville) and
Ciara Jones (O'Fallon, IL/O'Fallon) competed for the women's team. Johnson placed 10
th in the 1500-meter run with a time of 5:00.47. Jones competed in both the 100-meter hurdles and the Long Jump, placing third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.15 seconds and third in the Long Jump with a distance of 4.98-meters. Hill took home a second place finish in the Javelin after hurling a distance of 35.21-meters.
On the men's side McKendree totaled seven athletes who competed. Sophomore
Alexis Palmer (Parkland, FL/Nova) competed in three events including the 100 and 400-meter and the 4x400-meter with fellow sophomore
Alex McCrite (Tamms, IL/Egyptian) and freshman
Joe Shannon (Edwardsville, IL/Edwardsville) and
Tyler Johnson (South Holland, IL/St. Rita). Palmer placed sixth in the 400-meter with a time of 50.53 seconds and helped the 4x400 team to a fourth place finish with a time of 3:36.46.
Shannon also competed in the 800-meter finishing 16
th, while Johnson tallied a fourth place finish in the 400-meter hurdles after finishing in 57.95 seconds.
Freshman Os Moore placed sixth in the Long Jump traveling a distance of 6.21-meters. Moore was joined by junior Deonte Anderson who finished 13
th. Anderson also competed in the 200-meter for the Bearcats.
Freshman
Monte Wolke (Sigel, IL/Cumberland) reached a height of 4.36-meters in the Pole Vault for a second place finish.
McKendree returns to action Apr. 1 at the Wash-U Invite in St. Louis, MO in a meet hosted by Washington University.
