(BELLEVILLE, Ill., April 15)- The McKendree University women's tennis team was defeated Friday afternoon at home by Lewis University, 9-0. The match was played on the campus of Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville. 
 
With the loss, the Bearcats move to 9-10 overall and 0-4 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. McKendree will have a week off before hosting Bellarmine University on April 22 at 2 p.m., in a GLVC match in Belleville at Southwestern Illinois College.
