TOPEKA, Kan. – The women's tennis team concluded their time in Topeka, kanas for the annual Washburn Invite held on September 18th and 19th at the Kossover Tennis Courts. 

Nine Bearcats competed in the open singles, with Alessia Baiardi winning the Purple Flight by eeking out a 6-7(3-7), 7-5 [10-8] win in the quarterfinals over Kalali Parmida (Rockhurst). She then defeated Emma Guzman (Pratt CC) 6-2, 6-1 in the semifinals before beating Agustina Abdo (Nebraska-Kearney) 6-4, 6-1 in the final round. 

Three of the four McKedree doubles squads made it to the 3-4 Playoff round, with Sezim Sagynbaeva and Katie Woods being the only duo to win the matchup. They took down Yu Hozumi and Neiro Tanaka (Cowley CC) on a 6-3 victory.
