LEBANON, Ill. – The women's tennis team will host SWIC, William Woods University, Maryville University, and Goshen College at a few different sites from Friday, October 2nd through Sunday, October 4th. First serve is at 1:00 PM, 1:00 PM, and 9:00 AM, respectively each day.
The Bearcats will take on Goshen College at Southwestern Illinois College on Friday at 1:00 PM CT (tentatively; weather may impact). McKendree will then face fellow GLVC-foe Maryville University at 1:00 PM CT at Edwardsville HS on Saturday. The Bearcats will finish up their weekend with their #2 squad facing SWIC at 9:00 AM on the campus of SIUE. Later that day, they will face Maryville at SIUE as well, then their "A" squad will face William Woods University at Edwardsville High School. Both will have first serves at 1:00 PM CT.
Results will be posted publicly within the ensuing recap of the event.
The Bearcats competed at the Washburn Invitational two weeks ago in Topeka, Kansas. Sophomore Alessia Baiardi (Genoa, Italy) swept her singles competition in the Purple Flight. The duo of Sophomore Kristina Bogomazova (Auckland, New Zealand) and Freshman Katie Woods (Edwardsville, Ill.) were among the successful duos, finishing 2-1 in the Red Flight, nearly finishing 3-0 after dropping a hard fought 5-7 match in the East Semifinals.
The Bearcats will compete next weekend in the ITA Midwest Regional in Allendale, Michigan on Saturday, October 10th to Monday, October 12th. Information for the tournament is to be determined.
