(O'FALLON, Ill., April 9)- The McKendree University women's tennis team lost a close match to University of Illinois Springfield on Saturday 5-4.

The Bearcats fall to 9-9 overall and 0-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, and will host Lewis University on April 15 at 2 p.m., in a GLVC match in Belleville, Ill., at Southwestern Illinois College.

"We played a good match today," said head coach Raquel Allen. "They fought hard in some tough situations and played very consistently from singles to doubles. UIS was just a better team today."
