RESULTS
(Naperville, Ill., May 11) – McKendree University track and field competed at the Dr. Keeler Invitational on the campus of North Central College in Naperville, Illinois on Friday.
Junior Quincy McSweeney improved on her 800m season best mark, finishing in second position with a time of 2:09.24, which currently places her 14
th overall at the Division II level. Senior Jordyn Looman placed third in the 400m event setting a new personal best, while another senior, Melissa Calcara, was second in both the 100m and 400m hurdles.
Sophomore TsiTsi Mahachi finished second in the triple jump with a mark of 11.66m and senior Rebecca McKee placed 19
th in the same event. Junior Kirby Smith achieved a throw of 33.91m in the javelin, which earned her a second-place finish.
The men's 4x100m relay team consisting of junior DeMontez McCray, freshman Najee Sylvester, senior Kevin Witcik and junior Tyree Allen were victorious, crossing the line in a time of 41.63. Sylvester also competed individually in the 100m, where he finished in second position.
The men's 4x400m relay team featuring McCray, Allen, GLVC 800m champion Andrew Gardewine and junior Tyler Johnson earned a third-place finish with their effort of 3:15.81. Johnson also competed in the 200m event, finishing in 19
th place overall.
The list of qualifying athletes for the 2018 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be released on Tuesday, May 15.
