(LEBANON, Ill., Sept. 10) – The McKendree University women's volleyball team will host its first Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) contest against University of Southern Indiana on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

McKendree is 4-6 overall and 0-1 in the conference after falling in its GLVC opener against the University of Illinois Springfield this past Saturday in Springfield, Ill. The Bearcats drop to the Prairie Stars 3-0 despite a strong team performance in the third set where McKendree lost 29-27. Junior outside hitter Kelly Voss (St. Rose, IL/Mater Dei) powered the offense with a season high 19 kills and sophomore outside hitter Elle Russell (Festus, MO/St. Pius X) led the defensive efforts with 12 digs.

Southern Indiana comes to Lebanon with a 7-3 overall record and 1-1 in the GLVC. The Screaming Eagles swept Maryville University 3-0 this past Friday and then fell to University of Missouri-St. Louis 3-0 on Saturday. USI's offense is led by junior right side Elexis Coleman who has obtained 86 kills so far this season and its defense is led by senior defensive specialist Haley Limper's 102 digs.

The Bearcats will head west after Tuesday's match to face William Jewell Friday at 7 p.m. in Liberty, Mo. and then Rockhurst University Saturday at 3 p.m. in Kansas City, Mo.
