(WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind., Nov. 22) – The McKendree University swimming and diving team continued competition at the Purdue Invite on Friday. The Bearcats put up 11 more NCAA qualifying times/scores on day two.
After two days of competition, the men sit in fifth place with 266 points and the women are in seventh place with 124 points.
In the 400 IM, sophomore
Hallie Dixon (Jeffersonville, IN/Jeffersonville High School) placed eighth in the B final with a time of 4:31.66. Sophomore
Dawson Lutes (Beavercreek, OH/Beavercreek High School) and freshman
Barrett Troup (Little Rock, AR/Homeschool) took sixth and seventh in the C final with times of 4:11.13 and 4:12.26, respectively. Freshman
Fabio Dalu (Cagliari, Italy/Liceo L.B. Alberti Cagliari) competed in the A final, turning in a time of 3:55.36, meeting NCAA standards.
Senior
Matija Pucarevic (Belgrade, Serbia/Sixth Belgrade Grammar School) and sophomore
Gregg Lichinsky (West Des Moines, IA/West Des Moines Valley High School) competed in the A final of the 100 butterfly. Lichinsky placed second with a time of 47.43 and Pucarevic took sixth with a time of 47.84, both meeting NCAA standards.
For the 200 freestyle, senior
Luca Simonetti (Sassari, Italy/Liceo Scientifico Gulielmo Marconi Sassari) placed sixth in the A final with a time of 1:38.05 and junior
Alexander Skinner (Namibia, Africa/Windhoek Afrikaans Private School) took third in the B final with a time of 1:38.30. Both times met NCAA standards.
Freshman
Grace Credit (La Grange Highlands, IL/Lyons Township High School) took fourth place in the C final of the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:05.27. Freshman
John Heaphy (Eagle River, AK/Eagle River High School) turned in a NCAA qualifying time, taking first place in the B final with a time of 54.68.
In the 100 backstroke, senior
Sydney Rey (Columbia, IL/Columbia High School) took third place in the B final with a time of 55.37, meeting NCAA standards. Junior
Meredith Geyer (Germantown, TN/Germantown High School) competed in the C final, turning in a time of 57.05, taking eighth place. Freshman
Davante Carey (Nassau, Bahamas/Queens College) took first place in the C final with a NCAA qualifying time of 48.95.
