(SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Nov. 9) – The McKendree University swimming and diving program concluded the Drury Invitational with third place finishes on Saturday night at Breech Pool on the campus of Drury University.
The men scored 896 points and the women scored 586 points.
In the diving events, junior
Caitlyn Canadi (South Lyon, MI/South Lyon High School) placed fourth on one meter, scoring 286.90 points. Sophomores
Ethan Larson (Anchorage, AK/Paideia High School) and
Xavier Flores (Fresno, CA/Clovis West High School) took third and fifth place, respectively on the three meter. Larson scored 413.80 points and Flores 299.85.
To begin the swimming portion, the women took third place in the 200 medley relay. The team of senior

Grace Credit (La Grange Highlands, IL/Lyons Township High School), senior
Magdalena Knapp (Bolzano, Italy/Gymnasium Walther von der Vogelweide Bozen), and sophomore
Haley Rey (Columbia, IL/Columbia High School) turned in a time of 1:51.10. The men's team of freshman
Davante Carey (Nassau, Bahamas/Queens College), freshman
John Heaphy (Eagle River, AK/Eagle River High School), sophomore
Gregg Lichinsky (West Des Moines, IA/West Des Moines Valley High School), and freshman
Caleb Law (Anchorage, AK/Robert Service High School) took second with a time of 1:31.15.
Senior
Matija Pucarevic (Belgrade, Serbia/Sixth Belgrade Grammar School) placed third in the 100 butterfly with a time of 49.89. Pucarevic captured first in the 200 butterfly, touching the wall in 1:52.37.
Junior
Alexander Skinner (Namibia, Africa/Windhoek Afrikaans Private School) took first in the 100, 200 freestyle events, turning in times of 45.34 and 1:41.44.
In the 100 backstroke, junior
Meredith Geyer (Germantown, TN/Germantown High School) placed second with a 57.92. Carey took third with a time of 51.41.
Credit finished in third in the 100 breaststroke, turning in a 1:08.12.
The 800 freestyle relay team of sophomore
Hallie Dixon (Jeffersonville, IN/Jeffersonville High School), junior
Victoria Sananikone (Cedar Park, TX/Cedar Park High School), sophomore
Abigail Rumpp (Knoxville, TN/L&N STEM Academy), and Geyer placed fourth with a time of 8:05.92. The men's team of Pucarevic, senior
Luca Simonetti (Sassari, Italy/Liceo Scientifico Gulielmo Marconi Sassari), freshman
Fabio Dalu (Cagliari, Italy/Liceo L.B. Alberti Cagliari), and Skinner finished in first with a time of 6:50.73.
Dalu took the top spot in the 1000 freestyle, finishing with a 9:28.57.
In the 200 backstroke, Geyer placed first with a time of 2:04.72. Dalu took third place with a time of 1:54.22.
To finish off the invite, the women's 400 freestyle relay team of H. Rey, S. Rey, Rumpp, and Geyer finished third with a time of 3:36.60. The men's team of Pucarevic, Lichinsky, Simonetti, and Skinner took first place with a time of 3:01.24.
The Bearcats will head to the Purdue Boilermaker Invite for a three day meet beginning on November 21.
