(PERRY PARK, Ky., March 31)—The McKendree University women's golf team registered a ninth place finish Sunday at the Perry Park Spring Fling. Lewis University hosted the two-day, 36-hole event in Perry Park, Ky.
 
Playing in a field of 18 teams, McKendree opened with a 320 on Saturday before posting a final round score of 334 on Sunday. The Bearcats' overall team score of 654 was 45 strokes behind the tournament champions from the University of Findlay.
 
Sophomore Natasha Ainsley-Thomas (Northamptonshire, England/Sponne School) earned co-medalist honors at the Perry Park Spring Fling as she finished in a tie for first place atop the leaderboard. Ainsley-Thomas led the field after firing an even-par round of 72 on Saturday. She closed the tournament with a 78 for a two-day score of 150. Ainsley-Thomas was tied with Amanda Johansson from Tiffin University for first place.
 
Fellow sophomore Praewa Kongpolphrom (Bangkok, Thailand) finished in a tie for 43^rd place in the final individual standings at 164. That included a low round of 79 for Kongpolphrom on Saturday.
 
McKendree will return to action April 7-8 at the University of Missouri-St. Louis Spring Invitational to be held at Norwood Hills Country Club in St. Louis.
