(OMAHA, Neb. – Nov. 16) – The McKendree University women's wrestling teams was represented by BLANK Bearcats in the U23 and UWW Junior National Championships over the weekend. Freshman Cameron Guerin (Yakima, WA/A.C. Davis) returned as a UWW Junior National Champion in the 57 kg class, and multiple Bearcats placed in the top-10 of their weight classes.

The best high school upperclassmen and collegiate wrestlers from across the nation competed in Greco-Roman and women's freestyle divisions in the three-day tournament. Five Bearcats finished in the top-10 of the U23 Women's and four finished in the top-10 of the UWW Junior Nationals, including Guerin with a first-place finish.

50 kg:
Lizette Rodriguez (Fremont, CA/James Logan) was defeated 2-13 by Nina Pham (Texas Panhandle Wrestling Club) in the Consolation 8, Round 2. Rodriguez did not place in the tournament with a 2-2 record.

53 kg:
Felicity Taylor (Spillville, IA/South Winneshiek) started off strong, taking the first round 11-0 against Alizeih Villalpando (Warrior Wrestling Club). In the third-place match, Taylor was defeated 0-7 to Tiare Ikel (TMWC) and took fourth. Taylor finished fourth in U23 with a 3-2 record.

57 kg:
Cameron Guerin (Yakima, WA/A.C. Davis) took her first win 10-0 over Tatum Pine (Choker Wrestling Club). It was in the quarterfinals where Guerin was defeated 1-5 to teammate Ward. Guerin did not place in U23 with a 1-1 record.

Volunteer Assistant Coach Alexia Ward (Portland, OR/Westview) took her first round by storm with a 10-0 win over Jamae Barnes (Colorado Mesa WC). In the third-place match, Ward won a 3-2 decision over Lauren Mason (unattached). Ward finished third in U23 with a 3-1 record on the weekend.

59 kg:
Alisha Narvaez (Oakland, CA/James Logan) took her first round with a 11-6 defeat over Sierra Brown (Best Trained Wrestling). In the consolation bracket, Narvaez was defeated in the second round, 0-7 to Jerzie Estrada (unattached). Narvaez did not place in the tournament with a 1-2 record.

62 kg:
Emmily Patneaud (Newark, CA/Gilroy) dropped her first match 0-4 to Waipuilani Estrella-Beauchmp (Warrior Wrestling Club). It was in the Consolation Semifinals where Patneaud was defeated 9-2 to Kendall Bostelman (Wyoming Seminary) and finished fifth. Patneaud took fifth in U23 with a 2-2 record.

Salome Walker (Mishawaka, IN/Mishawaka) defeated Julia Padilla (Lion Wrestling Club) 5-2 in her first match of the tournament. It was in the Consolation Round 4, where Walker met teammate Patneaud and was narrowly defeated 6-5. Walker took eighth in U23 with a 2-2 record.

76 kg:
Joye Levendusky (Avon, NY/Avon) (Avon, NY/Avon) took a 10-0 win over Myranda Velazquez (unattached) to start off the tournament. Levendusky finished strong in the third-place match with a narrow 3-1 victory over Nkechinyere Nwankow (unattached). Levendusky took third in U23 with a 3-1 record.

50 kg:
Victoria Nunez (El Paso, TX/JM Hanks) took an 8-1 win over Chloe Krebsbach (Grand View WC) in her first match of the tournament. It was in the Consolation Round 2 where Nunez was defeated 0-12 to Anja Tschohl (Colorado Mesa WC). Nunez did not place in the tournament and went 2-2 on the weekend.

Lizette Rodriguez (Fremont, CA/James Logan) took her first match of the tournament, in a 11-3 win over Avery Kibelbek (Wyoming Seminary). Rodriguez was then defeated in the Consolation Round 4, 0-4 to Samara Chavez (Spartan Mat Club). Rodriguez did not place in the tournament and went 5-4 on the weekend.

53 kg:
Felicity Taylor (Spillville, IA/South Winneshiek) took a 10-0 win over Rose Ann Marshall (Stoughton Viking WC) to start off the tournament. In the first-place match, Taylor was defeated 1-12 by Tiare Ikei (TMWC). Taylor finished second in UWW Juniors, with a 6-3 record on the weekend.

57 kg:
Cameron Guerin (Yakima, WA/A.C. Davis) started the tournament with a 6-0 win over Joanna Vanderwood (unattached). Guerin finished with an 8-3 win over Xochitl Mota-Pettis in the finals for the UWW Junior title. Guerin finished first in UWW Juniors, with a 4-1 record on the weekend.

59 kg:
Alisha Narvaez (Oakland, CA/James Logan) took an 8-4 win over Amy Fuller (Bronco WC) to start off the tournament. It was in the consolation bracket where Narvaez was defeated 0-4 to Waipuilani Estrella-Beauchamp (Warrior WC). Narvaez did not place in the tournament and went 2-4 on the weekend.

62 kg:
Emmily Patneaud (Newark, CA/Gilroy) took her first round of the tournament, an 8-0 win over Ashlee Palimoo (Warrior WC). In the fifth-place match, Patneaud took the 11-4 win over Liana Souza (unattached). Patneaud took fifth in UWW Juniors, with a 7-4 record on the weekend.

Salome Walker (Mishawaka, IN/Mishawaka) was defeated in her first match of the tournament, 0-10 to Macey Kilty (Sunkist Kids Wrestling Academy). Walker was moved into the consolation bracket, where she was defeated 0-10 by teammate Patneaud. Walker did not place in the tournament and went 2-4 on the weekend.

72 kg:
Joye Levendusky (Avon, NY/Avon) (Avon, NY/Avon) defeated Jordan Roberts 10-0 in the quarterfinals match. In the first-place match, Levendusky was defeated 0-11 to Kennedy Blades (Wyoming Seminary). Levendusky finished second in UWW Juniors, with a 5-2 record on the weekend.
