(LEBANON, Ill. – Sept. 29) – McKendree University women's swimming and diving head coach,
Jimmy Tierney, has announced the additional signings of nine Bearcats for the upcoming 2020-21 season.
"We are very excited to welcome 9 new Bearcat women and 10 men for the 2020-21 season here in Lebanon. This group comprises the largest combined group in the history of our program," said head coach
Jimmy Tierney.
"This was a key year for recruiting as we still lacked depth in the past to cover the slate of events well. Now we are much more balanced than ever. Bringing in two promising divers is a huge get for us. We believe that both
Regan Gubera (Jamestown, IN/Western Boone) and
Rebekkah Schimick (New Lenox, IL/Lincoln-Way Central) will produce strong results for us in the coming years."
"On the swimming side, the class is led by the versatile
Vanda Voroshazy (Herceghalom, Hungary/Saint Joseph) who excels primarily in the butterfly events but will be a key middle-distance freestyler for us.
Alexis Kachkin (Glenview, IL/Glenbrook South) and
Hope Euler (Centerton, AR/Bentonville West) bring some excellent freestyle speed for our short sprint events and relays. We'll count heavily on
Jordyn Waters (Deer Park, TX/Deer Park),
Ellie Lawrence (University Place, WA/Curtis), transfer
Emily Drabick (Barto, PA/Boyertown Area Senior High), and
Hallie Anderson (O'Fallon, MO/Liberty) to produce for the Bearcats as well," said Tierney.
