EVANSVILLE, Ind. – McKendree Women's Swim and Dive have a strong last day to end the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Championships at the Deaconess Aquatic Center Saturday night.
The 100-yard freestyle saw Jocelyn Zgola get a fourth-place finish with a 51.34 capping of a great week of podium filled finishes. Tumi Macdonell also had a 14th place finish in the event with a 52.41.
Luiza Dias had a 2:04.64 performance in the 200-yard backstroke which earned her ninth place. Elena Argabright finished 14th in the event as well with a 2:08.27.
Beatriz Souza had a great performance in the 200-yard breaststroke where she once again broke her own school record with a time of 2:16.47. Her efforts got her a third-place finish.
The championship ended with Dias, Macdonell, Zgola and Helena Kurtz getting third in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
The team finished with a total score of 813.50 at the end of the week, which would put them in fifth at the GLVC Championships.
Next, the team will be preparing for the NCAA DII National Championships which will be back in Evansville at the Deaconess Aquatic Center March 10th through the 14th.
