(LEBAON, Ill. – Feb. 10) – The McKendree University volleyball team will have their home-opener in the Harry M. Statham Sports Center with back-to-back matches. The Bearcats will host University of Indianapolis on Friday, Feb. 12 at 5:00 PM, followed by University of Southern Indiana on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 11:00 AM.
Nickie Sanlin's team is 0-2 (0-2 in GLVC) heading into this week. In their most recent game, McKendree fell to Lewis in three sets, posting a .094 hitting percentage with 29 kills.
Elle Russell (Festus, MO/St. Pius X) recorded nine kills, while
Alexandria Muschong (Woodstock, IL/Woodstock) had the lone block during the game.
Gracie Marr (Castle Rock, CO/Castle View) recorded 14 assists, while
Brianna Binder (Littleton, CO/Dakota Ridge) led the team with 10 digs. McKendree has a .096 attacking percentage with 10.3 kills per set and .7 blocks per set, going into this weekend.
About University of Indianapolis (UIndy)
UIndy is 1-2 (1-2 in GLVC) this season, after dropping three sets to Southern Indiana on Saturday. UIndy dropped the first set of the afternoon 14-25, recording eight kills and committing four errors. The second set was just out of reach for the Greyhounds, 25-23, with a set-high 11 kills. About University of Southern Indiana
Southern Indiana is 2-1 (2-1 in GLVC) so far this season, after defeating UIndy in three sets on Saturday. The first set was dominated by the Screaming Eagles, with 18 kills and a .500 hitting percentage for the 25-14 win. The second set was a close victory, 25-23, with 15 kills and five errors.
