The McKendree University women's tennis team improved to 8-5 following Saturdays 4-3 victory over the Lindenwood Lions.

McKendree secured wins at first and second doubles to take a 1-0 lead to kick off the match. Viola Cipriani and Camilla Fonseca won at one doubles by a final score of 6-0, and Mariana Caicedo Mora and Sara Kalkenova held down second doubles, coming out on top with a 6-3 victory.

McKendree got wins from the top and middle of the lineup to defeat the Lions, with Cipriani winning at first singles by a score of 7-5, 6-2. Cipriani would get support from her doubles partner, Fonseca, who would win at fourth singles 6-4, 6-0. And Kalkenova would come out on top at third singles by a score of 6-0, 6-1.

The Bearcats await results from around the Great Lakes Valley Conference to see if they earn a spot in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tennis Championships in Romeoville, Ill.
