The McKendree University softball team dropped both games of its doubleheader against Lindenwood in Saint Charles, Mo. on Sunday.

The Bearcats lost the first game 4-3 and the second game 3-2.

Game One
Â
The Bearcats got off to a 3-0 in the game's first five innings with a
Miranda Gajewski RBI single in the third inning, a
Morgan Andrews RBI single in the fourth inning and a
Shelby Summer RBI single in the fifth inning.

After the Lions put up four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Bearcats could not find a way to tie the game.

Ellie Quaethem started on the mound for the Bearcats. She pitched in six innings, gave up four runs (three earned) off nine hits and struck out six batters. Her record falls to 9-6 on the season.

Game Two
Â
After the Lions got on the board in the bottom of the first inning, the Bearcats would put up two runs in the third inning courtesy of a Gajewski RBI double and a
Jenny Homann RBI single.

After tying the game at 2-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning, Lindenwood would clinch its second win of the day off an RBI single.

With the losses, the Bearcats fall to 21-11 and 18-8 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
