Men's Bowling Southern Collegiate Classic

Men's Bowling Places 11th at Bowlero Southern Collegiate Classic

MARIETTA, Ga. – The McKendree University men's bowling team posted an 11th place finish out of 26 teams here this past weekend at the Bowlero Southern Collegiate Clasisc held at Bowlero Austell.
 
At the two-day Tier 1 event, the Bearcats recorded a total pinfall of 10,073 pins as they tallied 5,730 pins in Saturday's traditional games, before carding a 4,343 pins in Sunday's 24 Baker games.
 
Savannah College of Art and Design took home the team title with a pinfall of 10,995, while Webber International was second with a total pinfall of 10,704 and Tennessee Southern was third with a total pinfall of 10,625.
 
McKendree was one of 11 schools at the event to record over 10,000 pins.
 
Fifth-year senior Daniel Chin (Daly City, Calif./Calumet College of St. Joseph) was the top finisher for the Bearcats in Saturday's traditional games as he finished 13th overall with a total pinfall of 1,197. Chin averaged 199.5 in his six traditional games and posted four games of 200 or better, including a high of 258 in the second game.
 
In addition to Chin, senior Jorge Rodriguez (Yauco, Puerto Rico/Lincoln Memorial also finished in the Top 25 as he tallied a pinfall total of 1,156 to finish in 25th place. Rodriguez averaged 192.7 per game and had two games of 200 or better, including a high of 218 in the sixth and final game.
 
Tennessee Southern's Ian Fitzpatrick was the top individual at the event as he tallied a total pinfall of 1,380 and averaged 230 per game. SCAD's Julian Salinas as second with a total pinfall of 1,332 and an average of 222 per game.
 
Junior Connor Brink (Rochester, NY/Monroe County) was the No. 3 Bearcat individual finisher as he played in five of the six games and recorded a total pinfall of 1,071 to finish in 46th place overall. Brink, who averaged 214.2 per game, had three games of 200 or better, including a 267 in the fifth game.
 
Junior Seth Gass (Dix, Ill./Mt. Vernon) was the fourth finisher for the Bearcats as he recorded a total pinfall of 929 in five games to finish in 79th place overall. Gass averaged 185.8 per game and a high of 221 in the third game, while junior Nicholas Blagojevic (Belleville, Ontario) was 97th overall with a total pinfall of 875 and average of 175 per game. He had a high of 192 in the second game.
 
The Bearcats will continue its season this coming weekend (Nov. 12-13) as they compete at the Leatherneck Classic held at the Highland Park Bowl in Moline, Ill.
