ELKHART, Ind. – On the third day of the 2022 Great Lakes Valley Conference Swimming & Diving Championships, the McKendree University women's team recorded three new school records in the 500 freestyle, 100 breaststroke and 800 freestyle relay at the Elkhart Health and Aquatics Center.
During Friday's action, the 18th-ranked Bearcats also recorded three NCAA 'B'-cut times and had two fourth place finishes overall.
Heading into Saturday's final day of action, McKendree remains in fourth place with 698 points as No. 3 ranked Drury continues to sit atop the team leaderboard with 1,455.50 points, while No. 2 ranked Indianapolis is second with 1,330 points and eighth-ranked Lindenwood is in third place with 1,145.00 points.
The Bearcats got Friday's finals started with a fourth-place finish in the 500 freestyle by senior
Hallie Dixon (Jeffersonville, Ind./Jeffersonville) with a school record and NCAA 'B'-cut time of 4:56.08. Dixon's time bettered her old time of 4:58.48 set at the 2019 GLVC Championships.
In addition to Dixon, graduate student
Molly Smalley (Windhoek, Namibia/Plymouth College) 13th with a time of 5:08.03 in the B-Finals of the 500 freestyle.
After senior
Abigail Rumpp (Knoxville, Tenn./L&N STEM Academy) placed 10th in the 100 backstroke with a time of 57.48 in the second event final on Friday, junior
Grace Credit (La Grange Highlands, Ill./Lyons Township) posted an school record and NCAA 'B'-cut time to finish seventh in the 100 breaststoke. In the event, Credit recorded a time of 1:03.96 to better her old school record mark of 1:04.67 at the 2019 Purdue Invitational.
In the fourth event final in Friday's third day, sophomore
Vanda Voroshazy (Herceghalom, Hungary/Saint Joseph) was 10th in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:06.73.
The final event of the third day of action was the 800 freestyle relay as the Bearcats finished in fourth place with a school record time of 7:35.35. The time of 7:35.35 bettered the old school mark of 7:36.68 set at the 2020 GLVC Championships. The members of the relay team were freshman

All first and second-place finishers earn first and second-team All-GLVC honors.
Meanwhile, in Friday's preliminaries, Dixon was second in qualifying in the 500 freestyle with an NCAA 'B'-cut time of 4:58.69, while Credit was eighth in 100 breaststroke qualifying (1:04.46) and Voroshazy was ninth in 200 butterfly (2:07.51) in the preliminaries.
The fourth and final day of the GLVC Championships begins Saturday morning with preliminaries in the 100 freestyle, 200 backstroke and 200 breaststroke, beginning at 10 a.m. ET. The women's 1-meter diving prelims are set to begin at 12:30 p.m. ET, with the finals taking place shortly after the conclusion of the prelims. Additionally, seven heats of the 1,650 freestyle will start at 2:45 p.m. ET, while the diving finals are finishing.
At the conclusion of Saturday's competition, postseason honors will be awarded for Swimmer, Diver, Freshman and Coach of the Year, as well as the team honor of the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award and the trophy presentation for the 2022 GLVC Champions.
