WAUWATOSA, Wis. - McKendree University men's bowling kicked off their 2023-24 season-opening weekend at the Midwest Collegiate Championship with a 14th-place finish out of 48 teams at Bowlero Wauwatosa.
The Bearcats finished 14th in the tournament as they recorded a total of 9,151 pins to finish 29 pins behind Lindenwood University and 47 pins in front of Aquinas College. Webber International University was the top-finishing team in the tournament with
9,877 pins.Â
After Saturday's opening day of action, McKendree was in 11th with 5,989 pins in six games, 25 pins behind Rock Valley College. On the second day of the tournament, the Bearcats played in four sets of baker matches where they ended with 706, 824, 801, and 830 pins in those sets.
During the individual rounds, sophomore
Darren Zombro placed 33rd individually as he recorded a total of 1,241 pins in six games and averaged 206.8 per game. Senior
Nicholas Blagojevic finished 48th individually with a total of 1,196 pins averaging 199.3 pins per game.
The Bearcats return to action next weekend Oct. 14-15 as they travel to the Western Bowl in Indianapolis, Ind., to compete in the Colombia 300 Western Shootout.
