Men's Bowling Finishes 3rd at Lynne Jordan Memorial; 2nd at Thomas Burris Memorial

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The McKendree men's bowling team competed in two tournaments this past weekend, the Lynne Jordan Memorial on Saturday and the Thomas Burris Memorial on Sunday.

On Saturday, the Bearcats varsity team finished third out of 21 teams knocking down 5,982 pins and averaging 213.6 pins a game. McKendree's junior varsity team finished ninth overall, knocking down 5,217 pins. In individual standings, graduate student Nicholas Blagojevic finished second overall, averaging 242 pins a game. Following behind in third was sophomore Nathan Bassford, averaging 236 pins a game, and junior Darren Zombro placed 11th, averaging 222 pins a game.

Thomas Burris Memorial
McKendree competed in the Thomas Burris Memorial on Sunday, with the Bearcats varsity team finishing second out of 21 teams. The Bearcats knocked down 5,738 pins, averaging 204.9 pins a game. The McKendree junior varsity team placed fourth, knocking down 5,332 pins. Individually, freshman Bradon West finished sixth overall averaging 215 pins a game and Zombro placed 14th averaging 212 pins a game.

Head coach Dennis Knepper added, "Successful weekend at two tournaments on very challenging patterns."

The Bearcats are back on the lanes Feb. 8-9 as they host the McKendree Baker Challenge in Fairview Heights, Ill. at St. Clair Bowl.
