DAVENPORT, Iowa - The McKendree men's bowling team competed this past weekend November 11-12 in the Leatherneck Classic at the Big River Bowl up in Iowa. 

The Bearcats placed third/fourth overall out of 44 teams knocking down a total of 7,983 pins. 

On Saturday's opening day of action, McKendree started at 8:45 am playing five traditional matches landing themselves in 11th place. On day two, the Bearcats started at 7:45 am and played 16 Baker games and had to land themselves in eighth place for match play. McKendree went into day two being out of the cut, then the guys launched an 833, 781, and 803 landing themselves into sixth place to qualify for match play. In round one of match play the Bearcats took down Webber advancing to round two just falling short to Mount Mercy placing them third/fourth overall.

The Bearcats return to action this weekend November 18-19, hosting the McKendree Match Games in Fairview Heights at St. Claire Bowl.
