O'FALLON, Ill. - McKendree University women's tennis posted two dominant wins over Missouri Baptist University (7-0) and Webster University (6-1).

Against Missouri Baptist on Friday, the Bearcats secured two doubles' wins as senior Viola Cipriani and junior Camilla Fonseca took the No.1 match 6-2 and the No.2 duo of fifth-year senior Manuela Barriga and junior Mariana Caicedo Mora posted a 6-0 win.

McKendree swept the singles' matches with a 6-0, 6-1 score from Cipriani in the No.1 match, a 6-1, 6-0 score from Barriga in the No.2 match, and a 6-1, 6-2 win from Fonseca at the No.3. Junior Maria Vitoria Salomao sealed the No.4 match 6-3, 6-3 while Caicedo Mora added the No.5 win at 6-0, 6-0.

McKendree faced Webster University on Saturday, snagging its third win of the season with a 6-1 score. Barriga and Caicedo Mora took care of the No.1 doubles match 6-3 in addition to a 6-2 win from Salomao and junior Bailey Kettering in the No.2 match. Senior Anna Marison and junior Bailey Grigg fell 2-6 in the No.3 match.

The Bearcats posted a 5-1 record in singles' matches as Fonseca, junior Rhyan Cook, and Salomao clinched victories in the No.1-3 matches, respectively. Caicedo Mora recorded her second consecutive 6-0, 6-0 win at the No.4 match while Kettering rounded out the singles' wins at 6-3, 6-3. Grigg fell to Webster's Bailee Pinedo by a score of 2-6, 1-6.

The Bearcats will be back on the courts on March 11 as they host Drury University at the St. Clair Tennis Club in O'Fallon, Ill. at 5 p.m.
