TERREHAUTE, IN- The Mckendree Track and Field teams traveled to Indiana State for the Blue-White Classic on Saturday February 4^th.

The Bearcat Women had a great showing with three top 5 finishes led by Ndia Johnson (Belleville, IL/Belleville West) who placed 2^nd in the weight throw and 5^th in the shot put. Her weight throw of 17.27 meters was a season best and hit the NCAA DII Provisional mark. She is the first Bearcat of the year to get a provisional mark. The final top 5 finish of the day came from the 4x400m relay consisting of Tori King (Belleville, IL/Belleville West), Azia Douglas (Belleville, IL/ Altoff Cathlolic), Reagan Lucas (Freeburg, IL/ Freeburg), and Colleen Zinke (Maryville, IL/ Collinsville) who finished the race in a time of 4:36.44.

Johnson's impressive toss in the weight throw, not only allowed her to hit the provisional mark but also has her placed 33^rd in NCAA DII. Her shot put was a personal best and good enough for a current 11^th place position in the GLVC performance list.

On the Men's side the Bearcats placed in the top 5 in six events. Johnathan Bumpers (Alton, IL/Alton) placed 4^th in the Long Jump and 5^th in the 60m Hurdles. Brendan Harter (St. Louis, MO/ Desmet Jesuit) placed 3^rd in the High Jump. John Bush (Ballwin, MO/Marquette) placed 5^th in the 800m with a season best of 1:59.40, and in the 4x400m both Mckendree's A and B squads took home top 5 finishes.

The final race of the night was extremely exciting for the Bearcats with their A Team consisting of Bumpers, Oshawi Burgher (Kingston Jamaica/ Excelsior), George Safo (Crete, IL/Crete Monee), and Bush going back and forth with the B team consisting of Holden Hutchcraft (Pinckneyville, IL/Pinckneyville), Dorian Foster (Belleville, IL/Belleville East), Julian Jusczcyk (St. Louis, MO/Lutheran North), and Blake Westrater (O'fallon, IL/O'fallon). The two teams were neck and neck through the first exchange with Bumpers and Hutchcraft jockeying for position. Both teams had excellent races, but in the end the A Team held out to get 3^rd and the B team held strong in 5^th.

Mckendree will take a week off from competition and return on Friday February 17^th for the EIU Friday Night Special.
