ROLLA, MISSOURI- The Mckendree track and field teams travelled to Missouri S&T to start their outdoor season at the Miner Invitational.
The Mckendree Men and Women placed 4th and 14th, respectively, in a very large and competitive meet that consisted of over 20 different teams in attendance.
The Mckendree Men were led by
Malachi Carroll who placed 1st in the 100m Dash with a time of 10.76 and 2nd in the 200m Dash with a time of 21.99. Both of Carroll's times were fast enough to move him to the top of the GLVC outdoor rankings. Other scorers for the Bearcats included
Brendan Harter who placed 2nd in the high jump,
Roemello Byndloss and
John Bush who placed 4th and 6th in the 400m,
Oshawi Burgher who placed 4thi n the 800m,
Johnathan Bumpers who placed 6th in the 110m Hurdles and 7th in the Long jump, and both of Mckendree's sprint relays which placed 3rd. The 4x100m relay consisted of
George Safo,
Holden Hutchcraft,
Johnathan Bumpers, and
Malachi Carroll. The 4x400m relay consisted of Hutchcraft, Bush, Burgher, and Safo.
The top finish for the Bearcat women came from the 4x400m Relay consisting of
Tori King,
Azia Douglas,
Sophia Paschall, and
Reagan Lucas. The relay finished 3rd in a time of 4:23.52. Lucas also scored in the 800m with a personal best time of 2:25.68. This performance currently ranks her second in the GLVC. Other notable performances included Paschall's first 1500m which she ran in 5:23.69 and Douglas's double in the 100m and 400m hurdles. Douglas placed 11th in the 400m hurdles and 12th in the 100m hurdles.
The Bearcats return to Action March 31-April 1 for the Joey Haines Invitational at Southeastern Missouri.
