Quincy, Ill.- Women's tennis kicked off the 2023-24 campaign with a weekend tournament at Quincy University.
In the "A" draw, senior Camilla Fonseca competed as well as fifth year Viola Cipriani both winning their first matches.
The "C" draw saw great success for the Bearcats as senior Maria Vitoria Salomao dominated throughout, winning each set and closed out victorious among the field.
"The weekend was positive. All the girls competed and played very well. The hard work is paying off as the girls are playing on a high level. The tournament was a good preparation for Regionals, and we can't wait for that!" Camilla Fonseca said.
The Bearcats will compete in two more tournaments this fall, with their next action coming in the ITA Midwest Regionals hosted by the University of Indianapolis, Sept. 16 through Sept. 18.
"Overall, it was a great effort from our players. We did well but we still have improvements to make. We look forward to competing even better at ITA regionals this weekend." Coach Vidal said.
