LEBANON, Ill. - McKendree University women's volleyball is set to play two home Great Lakes Valley Conference games this coming weekend. On Friday, the Bearcats will face the University of Indianapolis at 6 p.m. followed by a 3:00 p.m. match on Saturday against Lewis University.
McKendree holds a 3-10 overall record and is currently 1-2 in GLVC play.Â
The Greyhounds have a 14-2 overall record and are undefeated in conference play. Offensively, senior outside hitter Sophia Parlanti leads UIndy in kills with 3.66 per set and ranks No. 7 in GLVC standings. Leading the defense for the Greyhounds is sophomore defensive specialist Ellie Spang with 5.53 digs per set and is ranked No. 6 in digs for the conference. Freshman middle blocker Kelsey McKenney is ranked No.4 in blocks for the GLVC with 66 blocks on the season.
The Flyers sit at 11-5 overall and will face UMSL on Friday night before making the trip to McKendree on Saturday. In GLVC statistics, the Flyers lead the GLVC in blocks with 2.58 per set and digs with 19.39 per set. Graduate student libero Ally Hickey is ranked No.2 in the conference for digs with 5.74 per set. Graduate student middle blocker Bella Ray ranks No. 2 in the GLVC for blocks with 74 total on the season.Â
Friday night's pink out game will be McKendree volleyball's Breast Cancer Awareness game, and Saturday's game will be a purple out for Homecoming weekend.
