CHARLESTON, Ill. - McKendree University men's track and field competed at the John Craft Invite.
Sophomore Amber Cotton got the day started with a seventh-place finish in the 60m finals with a time of 8.21.
Freshman Shinelle Jhagroo placed fifth in the 200m with a personal best of 26.93. Jhagroo also won the long jump with yet another career best mark of 18'0.25" (5.49).
Freshman Kennise Majors placed fourth in the 60m hurdles final with a personal best of 9.52.
The 4x400m relay team consisting of all sophomores in Divine Favour Ozomma, Adonya Taylor, Iyanna Dear, and Sara Belloso placed fourth with a time of 4:15.15. The 4x400 B team consisting of Sophomore Azia Douglas, freshman Mickayla Southerland, fifth year senior Elise Johnson, and freshman Kennise Major.
Sophomore Adoyna Taylor placed second in the triple jump with a mark of 40' 10.5" (12.46m).
Freshman Sofia Boscarolo.placed fifth in the shotput with a mark of 40' 10.5" (12.46m).
Tenisa Ferrell placed seventh in the weight throw with a mark of 43' 10.75" (13.38m).
"The Bearcats were a little rusty from a long cold winter break; however they still managed to make some marks at EIU." Head track and field coach Barry Ford.
The track and field teams are back in action next Fri. Jan.24 at Illinois Wesleyan University.
