ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - McKendree University women's track and field opened up the 2025 Great Lakes Valley Conference putting six points on the board throughout the Friday of competition.
Opening the day freshman Shinelle Jhagroo Bryan placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 5.68 (18-7.75ft). Sophomore Paula Niubo placed eighth with a mark of 5.50m, (18-0.50ft).
The shotput saw freshmen Sofia Boscarolo and Tenisa Ferrell throw marks of 11.36m and 10.76m respectively.
Sophmore Divine Favour Ozomma ran the 100m in a time of 12.48, a new personal best, followed by Helena Rohde in 12.87. Ozomma also ran the 200 in a time of 26.29.
The 400m preliminary saw freshman Mickayla Sutherland tied her personal best of 55.54, placing fourth and qualifying for the final.
Sophomore Sara Belloso qualified for the finals in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:04.61, placing third.
The Bearcats are back on the track and in the fields for tomorrows final day of action.
