HANNIBAL, Mo. – The McKendree Men's cross-country team placed second at the Trojan Invitational in Hannibal, Missouri at the HLGU XC course on Saturday.
The Bearcats were able to stick together in a group throughout the race with four out of the eight runners finishing within the top 10. Diego Paz-Denis, Blake Westrater and Keveroy Venson finished 5th, 6th and 7th consecutively with times of 27:38.6, 27:40.3 and 27:49.3, respectively. Alongside them in the top 10 was Reed Florey in 10th with a time of 28:30.1.
Closely behind them was Elijah Baer finishing 16th with a time of 30:07.3. Ostin Habeck, Adriano Brown and Brenton Good ended the day for McKendree in 22nd, 26th and 29th stopping the clocks at 31:31.2, 32:48.5 and 34:32.7, respectively.
The team finished with 38 points to earn the second place finish out of six teams at the event.
