GREENVILLE, Ill. – The McKendree Men's Cross-Country team pulled out its first win since 2016 at the Greenville Classic at the Hillsboro Country Club course on a chilly Friday evening.
The Bearcats took a prominent victory with a difference of five points from the team that placed second, with three out of the eight runners finishing in the top 10, with Kevroy Venson leading the way followed by Blake Westrater and Diego Paz Denis in third, fifth and eighth with times of 26:45.4, 26:48.55 and 27:21.05, respectively.
Venson led the pack leading to his new personal record in the 8k by a minute and four seconds over his previous personal record which stood at 27:49.3.
Following were Reed Florey, Elijah Baer, Austin Habeck, Brenton Good and Adriano Brown in 19th, 31st,35th, 59th, and 62nd finishing with times of 28:10.59, 29:26.53, 29:54.41, 32:00.86, 32:38.39, respectively.
It was a great day for the Bearcats as the team finished on top with a score of 62 points out of the nine teams competing in the meet.
