LEBANON, Ill. – McKendree's women's volleyball team will be back at home at the Melvin Price Convocation Center this weekend, Oct. 24th-25th. The Bearcats are set to face Maryville University on Oct. 24th at 6:00 pm and Missouri University S&T on Oct. 25th at 3:00pm as they resume conference play.
The Bearcats enter this weekend 5-15 overall and 3-3 in conference. McKendree is coming off a 3-0 sweep against Malone University at the Midwest Region Crossover. The Bearcats are led offensively by senior outside hitter Destiny Gray with 213 kills on the season. Gray is hitting at a .181 percent. Freshman setter Peyton Uptgraft orchestrates the McKendree offense with 507 assists. Senior libero Ashlyn Berczynski is leading the defense with 357 digs, averaging 5.25 digs/set.
The Saints of Maryville University come into the weekend 10-9 overall, 3-2 in conference nursing a two-game win streak. Maryville's offense is run by sophomore setter Taylor Reynolds and freshman setter Cami Kohmetscher with 374 and 305 assists respectively. The Saints leader on the offensive end is senior outside hitter Ella Brinkmann with 244 kills. Senior libero/defensive specialist Olivia Klump leads the defense with 384 digs.
The Missouri S&T Miners are entering the weekend 5-14 overall, with a 0-5 conference record. The Miners are resuming conference play with a three-game win streak, going undefeated at the Midwest Region Crossover. Redshirt junior setter Elise Mehaffy operates the offense with 348 assists so far on the season. Missouri S&T relies on their freshman pin hitters, outside hitter Elly Decker and opposite Addie Schoenberger, who have 148 and 128 kills respectively. The Miners' defense is led by Decker who has 143 digs, followed by senior outside hitter Lexi Kosmopolis with 133 digs and redshirt junior setter Elise Mehaffy with 132 digs. Sophomore libero Reese Massey trials with 123 digs.
