LEBANON, Ill. – McKendree's women's volleyball team is headed to Kirksville, MO to face the Truman University Bulldogs on Oct. 9th at 6:00 pm. Following that match, the Bearcats will make their way to Fayette, IA to compete against the Upper Iowa University Peacocks on Oct. 11th at 3:00 pm for another weekend full of GLVC competition.

This past weekend, Oct. 3rd-4th, the Bearcats split on their homecourt, falling to Qunicy University in 3 sets and a 4-set victory over Illinois Springfield. The match against Quincy was highlighted by senior libero Ashlyn Berczynski registering her 1,000th career dig. The highlight of the Illinois Springfield contest was a season high 20 kill performance from senior outside hitter Destiny Gray as well as a career high 30 dig performance from Berczynski.

McKendree will be entering this weekend sitting even at 2-2 in conference play, looking to build upon their winning streak. The Bearcats are currently holding the 9th standing, behind Drury and Lewis who are also 2-2. Berczynski and Gray are leading the Bearcats in digs and kills so far in the season. Berczynski has picked up 237 digs up to this point and Gray has recorded 145 kills.

Truman State is 3-2 in conference coming into this weekend, fresh off a loss to Indianapolis. The Bulldogs are holding 5th in the rankings. Truman is sitting behind Quincy and Indianapolis, both also 3-1. Offensively, the Bulldogs are led by sophomore outside hitter Michaela Goad with 113 kills, followed by sophomore middle blocker Autumn Erickson who has 107 kills. On the defensive end, sophomore defensive specialist/libero Addy Janssen leads the Bulldogs with 264 digs.

Upper Iowa is coming into the weekend nursing a 3-game losing streak with a 1-3 record in conference competition. The Peacocks are sitting in the 11th spot in the conference rankings behind Southwest Baptist who is also 1-3. Graduate outside hitter Martha Pace is leading the Peacocks' offense with 143 kills while sophomore libero/outside hitter Morgan Block leads the defense with 240 digs.
