FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. – McKendree Men's Bowler Dale Horstmann recorded a perfect game in the fourth game of the traditional games on Saturday at the McKendree Match games at St. Clair Bowl.
The team finished qualifying with a total pinfall of 8,566 to land them in second out of the 31 varsity teams. They then procedded to beat Wartburg College 2-1 in match play, then it was a second round exit to Quincy 1-2.
Individually, Nathan Bassford finished the tournament on top of the competition, averaging 232 through five games. Darren Zombro also bowled all five traditional games and averaged 204.8, where he finished in 47th. Brett Maciejewski and Zach Vanderpool each had four accredited games averaging 214.25 and 218. Horstmann and Connor Lunning finished with three accredited games averaging 224 and 204 respectively. Xavier Newell had one accredited game where he bowled a 170.
Shining individually on the junior varsity teams were Rhett Detering, Macallan Gagne, and Trevor Pense, all finishing in the top 30. Detering finished with an average of 228.8 and finished third overall. Gagne finished 10th with an average of 221.8, and Pense finished in 26th with an average of 213.6.
The junior varsity one team finished fourth and the junior varsity two team finished 10th out of the 12 junior varsity teams.

The McKendree Men's Bowling team will be taking the trip to Las Vegas, Nevada for the Glenn Carson Invitational December 18th through the 21st.
