SPRINGFIELD, Ill – Women's Tennis improves to 4-1 in the GLVC over the weekend, defeating Lewis and UIS.
McKendree 5, Lewis 2
On Friday, April 25
th, the Bearcats traveled to Romeoville, Ill to take on the Flyers of Lewis University. The Bearcats came home with a 5-2 win.
In doubles play, the Bearcats take the point, with junior
Lena Greefs and freshman
Keira Greefs winning the no. 2 doubles match 7(7)-6(1), and the no. 3 doubles match of freshman duo
Ivana Milkova and
Milica Dobrosavljevic was won due to forfeit.
In singles play, junior
Iva Poleksic fell behind losing the first set in her No. 2 match but came back to win the last two sets to get the win over Medishetti. No. 3 match, senior
Sofija Djunisijevic defeated Vdovychenko 6-2, 6-2. Rounding out the wins for the day was Greefs (Keira) winning the No. 5 match 6-3, 6-0 and Freshman
Paisley Struewing winning the No. 6 match due to forfeit.

On Saturday, April 26
th, the Bearcats traveled to Springfield, Ill to take on University of Illinois Springfield. The Bearcats improve to 4-1 in the GLVC with the 4-3 win over UIS.
In doubles play, UIS secures the point, while Milkova and Dobrosavljevic win the No. 3 match 6-1.
In singles play, Poleksic wins the No. 2 match 6-2, 7-5 over Bordean. Djunisijevic takes down Kalinowska 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 3 singles match. Finishing out the wins on the weekend was Milkova winning the No. 4 match and Struewing winning the No. 6 match.
