ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - McKendree University men's track and field opened up the 2025 Great Lakes Valley Conference seeing three athletes competing on a windy Thursday afternoon and evening.  

The championship started with the hammer throw, seeing senior Matthew Wilson launch a personal best mark of 45.89m (150.70ft) on his second attempt placing 12th overall. Junior Antonio Gonzalez took 18th place with a mark of 42.17m (138.40ft) 

Closing out the night was graduate student Michael Hayeck, who in his final race of his career ran a personal best time in the 10,000m of 35:00.27.  

The Bearcats are back on the track and in the field over the next two days.
