Sutton, Freeman Reel In 25th at ACA/Bass Pro Shops 2025 Collegiate Championship

ANDERSON, S.C. – McKendree University bass fishing anglers competed in the ACA/Bass Pro Shops 2025 Collegiate Championship on May 22–23 at Lake Hartwell.

The senior duo of Evan Sutton and Jaxson Freeman had a strong tournament, weighing in a limit both days for a total of 25.66 pounds, earning them 25th place. Graduate student Harmon Marien and senior Maxwell Trotter were close behind, also bringing in a double limit for a total of 25.14 pounds, landing them in 29th place. Junior Ethan Fields and Lane Stephens made a great comeback on day two with 12.71 pounds, finishing with a two-day total of 23.17 pounds and placing 50th overall. Senior Jack Stephens and sophomore Angelo Malek secured 52nd place with two limits totaling 23.14 pounds.

Freshman Zach Widelski and junior Connor Hall finished in 137th place with a total of 16.83 pounds, while the freshman duo of Chase Logue and Mason Darling landed in 167th place with 11.98 pounds.

The Association of Collegiate Anglers (ACA) National Championship marked the final points tournament of the season in the School of the Year race for the Bearcats. One final event remains next week in the Bassmaster Lunkers Division. After that, final points will be tallied to determine the season standings.
