Lebanon, Ill. – Women's volleyball is scheduled to play in the Comfort Inn Invitational hosted by the University of Central Missouri Friday, Sept. 19th-Saturday, Sept. 20th. McKendree will match up with the University of Washburn at 2:30 PM on the 19th and will face Ouachita Baptist University at 9:30 AM and the University of Central Missouri at 5:00 PM on the 20th.
McKendree enters the weekend with a 1-7 record being led by senior outside hitter Destiny Gray offensively with 71 kills and senior libero Ashlyn Berczynski defensively with 106 digs.
The Bearcats will be facing the Washburn Ichabods for the first time in program history in their match on Friday, Sept. 19th. Washburn enters the Comfort Inn Invitational with an undefeated record of 8-0. The Ichabods are led offensively by senior middle hitter Austin Broadie who has 77 kills and junior defensive specialist/libero Taylor Rottinghaus leads the defensive end with 88 digs.
In McKendree's first match on Saturday, Sept. 20th, the Bearcats will take on the Ouachita Baptist Tigers. The two teams met for the first time last season where the Tigers came out victorious over the Bearcats 3-1. Ouachita Baptist is coming into the weekend sporting an 8-1 record, where the Tigers are led by junior outside hitter Kailey Thedford on the offensive end with 93 kills and junior defensive specialist/libero Kylie Kisgen defensively with 187 digs.
The Bearcats will finish play at the Comfort Inn Invitational with a showdown against the hosting Central Missouri Jennies. This will be the first match up between the Bearcats and the Jennies since 2013 where Central Missouri came out on top 0-3. The Jennies are starting the weekend with a 4-2 record. Central Missouri is led offensively by redshirt sophomore outside hitter/opposite Emma Siron with 61 kills and defensively by redshirt senior defensive specialist/libero Grace Winkelmann with 108 digs.

The Comfort Inn Invitational will round out tournament play for McKendree before they step into conference competition next weekend, Sept. 26th-Sept. 27th.
