LEBANON, Ill. — The McKendree University men's basketball team has reached a historic mark on Tuesday, February 3rd, as they made their inaugural appearance in the NABC Coaches Poll, slotted at 23rd.
The program has never been ranked nationally in its NCAA Division II history (since 2012-13), albeit they have received countless votes for the past several weeks leading up to this point.
McKendree is coming off a 2-0 weekend on their home hardwoods over the University of Missouri-St. Louis and Maryville University to push their win streak to a season-high six games dating back to January 15th. The Bearcats currently post a 17-4 overall record with a 10-3 mark in GLVC play.
The team will set its eyes on the University of Illinois Springfield at the Harry M. Statham Sports Center this Saturday at 3:00 PM CT for a battle between two of the top teams in the conference.
NABC COACHES POLL CRITERIA
The weekly coaches poll is being conducted by 16 members of the NABC, two representing each of the eight NCAA Division II regions.
