INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – McKendree Women's Swimmer Beatriz Souza's outstanding efforts against UMSL earned her the final regular season Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Women's Swimmer of the Week award, the league announced Wednesday afternoon.  

Souza had two first place individual finishes in the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke, finishing with times of 1:04.81 and 2:19.68 respectively. She was also a factor in the 200-yard medley relay with a 29.23 split time in the breaststroke portion.  

Her efforts helped put the Bearcats over the top against conference opponent UMSL, with a final score of 127-91.  

This is her first career GLVC Women's Swimmer of the Week award with Jocelyn Zgola being the last to claim it for the McKendree back in November. 

Next, the team is heading for the GLVC Championships in Evansville, Indiana next week at the Deaconess Aquatic Center, February 10th through the 14th.
