(McKENZIE, Tenn., September 23)- An early first period goal proved to be too much to overcome for the McKendree University women's soccer team on Friday in a 1-0 loss at Bethel University (Tenn.).

The Bearcats dropped to 3-6 overall on the season and will travel to Springfield, Ill., on Monday, September 26th for a match against Benedictine University-Springfield at 5 p.m.

The lone goal of the contest came in the eighth minute by Bethel's Victoria Musyoki on a double assist from Lori Magnesen and Rachel Rathbone. McKendree outshot the Wildcats, 15-11, in the contest and placed eight shots on goal, but couldn't get one past the Bethel keeper.

Freshman goalkeeper Taylor Zerbe (St. Louis, Mo., Trinity Catholic) fell to 2-6 overall an had five saves in the loss.
