(LEBANON, Ill., April 2)—The McKendree University women's golf team finished 16^th out of 18 teams at the Washington University Spring Invitational. The two-day tournament was held Saturday and Sunday at Gateway National Golf Club in Madison, Ill.
 
The Bearcats carded a 36-hole score of 703, which included an opening-round 345 on Saturday. William Woods University and host Washington University finished in a tie for first at 611, and William Woods won the tie-breaker to claim the overall title.
 
Senior Stephanie Harris (Alhambra, IL/Highland) (Alhambra, Ill./Highland) was the top McKendree individual at the tournament. Harris finished in a tie for 23^rd place with a score of 160. Junior Jessica Pigati (Indianapolis, IN/Hamilton Southeastern) (Indianapolis, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) was three strokes behind Harris at 163, and was tied for 36^th in the 104-player field.
 
McKendree will return to action April 14-15 at the University of Missouri-St. Louis Spring Invitational, which will be staged at Oak Terrace G.C., in Pana, Ill.
