Tim Strange Earns 200th Women's Socccer Win In McKendree's 1-0 Double Overtime Win Over Indianapolis

Box Score (LEBANON, Ill., Sep. 21)- Head women's soccer coach Tim Strange collected his 200th career women's soccer victory at McKendree University on Friday evening after the Bearcats defeated University of Indianapolis, 1-0, in double overtime.

The Bearcats improved to 4-1-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the GLVC and will host Saint Joseph's College for a conference matchup on Sunday, Sep. 23 at Noon.

"I told the girls that it wasn't about me, it was about them," said Strange following the game. "They worked really hard tonight and it showed. We got an opportunity late in the game to score a goal and we finished it off in overtime. Every game in the conference is going to be a tough and we learned that if you keep battling in these games that you good things will happen."

Strange is in his 14th season and has an overall record of 200-53-19 as women's soccer coach at McKendree.

Despite outshooting the Greyhounds, 11-7, and placing five shots on goal in regulation, the Bearcats wouldn't find their best opportunity until the 101st minute of the contest. Junior midfielder Tara Kennedy (Waterloo, Ill./Gibault Catholic) took a corner kick from the near corner and found sophomore midfielder/defender Tess Huettner (Belleville, Ill./Althoff Catholic) in the middle of the box for the game-winning goal. The goal was Huettner's first this season.

Junior goalkeeper Maggie Dudas (St. Peters, Mo./Ft. Zumwalt South) played the entire game in goal and grabbed four saves. She improved to 4-1-1 overall in the win.
