Box Score (INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., Oct. 13)- The McKendree University women's soccer team played to its fifth tie of the season on Sunday in a 1-1, double-overtime draw at University of Indianapolis.
The Bearcats are now 5-3-5 overall and 3-2-5 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and will travel to Quincy, Ill., on Friday, October 18 at 5 p.m., to face No. 9 Quincy University.
McKendree held a 11-4 shot advantage in the first half, but niether team could find the back of the net and went into the half knotted up 0-0.
The Greyhounds struck first in the second half on a goal by Taylor Cotherman in the 73rd minute to take a 1-0 lead.
Sophomore forward
Alyssa Patterson (Troy, Ill./Triad) tied the game, 1-1, for the Bearcats in the 86th minute off a pass from freshman midfielder/forward
Alyssa Reiniger (Maryville, Ill./Collinsville). The goal was Patterson's third of the season, while the assist was Reiniger's first of her collegiate career.
Of the six combined shots in the overtime periods, only one was placed on frame, resulting in a save by Indianapolis.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Taylor Zerbe (St. Louis, Mo./Trinity Catholic) grabbed three saves and is now 2-1-2 overall on the season.
