Box Score (LEBANON, Ill., Sep. 20)- The McKendree University women's soccer team played its third consecutive overtime game on Friday and tied No. 12 William Jewell College, 1-1, in a Great Lakes Valley Conference game.

The Bearcats are now 3-1-2 overall and 1-0-2 in the GLVC after the tie, and will host Rockhurst University on Sunday, Sep. 22 for a conference game at noon.

McKendree struck first in the fourth minute on a header by sophomore Cassie Kaiping (Waterloo, Ill./Waterloo) on a corner kick from senior forward Chealsey Russell (Springfield, Mo./Kickapoo). The goal was Kaiping's third of the season, while the assist was Russell's second of the year.

The Cardinals tied the game, 1-1, in the 23rd minute on a goal by Ashley Licata off a pass from Sarah Franklin.

The Bearcats outshot William Jewell, 14-8, after the half but couldn't get the go-ahead score.

Senior goalkeeper Maggie Dudas (St. Peters, Mo./Ft. Zumwalt South) had seven saves and is now 2-1-2 overall on the season.
