Live StatsLive Video(LEBANON, Ill., Oct. 24)- The McKendree University women's soccer team will be playing to keep its conference playoff hopes alive this weekend.
The Bearcats travel to Evansville, Ind., to face University of Southern Indiana on Friday, Oct. 24 at 5 p.m., followed by their final home game of the season on Sunday, Oct. 26 against Bellarmine University at noon. The women's soccer team will be honoring its four senior members as part of senior day festivities prior to the game Sunday, and the team will be wearing pink to raise awareness about breast cancer.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES: Southern Indiana enters Friday with an overall record of 3-9-2 and a 2-8-2 mark in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Eagles lost both of its contests last weekend, falling 4-0 at Drury, before losing a close one to Missouri S&T, 2-1, on Sunday.
SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS: Bellarmine enters the weekend with an overall record of 11-2-2 and a 9-1-2 mark in the GLVC. The Knights have won four-straight matches heading into the weekend, including a 2-0 win over William Jewell College last Friday and a 2-1 win over Rockhurst last Sunday. Bellarmine currently sits in second place in the conference standings.
SENIOR DAY: Prior to the game on Sunday, the Bearcats will honor its five seniors playing their final home game at Leemon Field.
Taryn Butler (Rochester, Ill./Rochester),
Natalie Crane (Granite City, Ill./Granite City),
Mary Geiger (Fairmont City, Ill./Althoff Catholic) and
Madalan O'Leary (Collinsville, Ill./Collinsville) will all be completing their collegiate careers at McKendree on Sunday, and we'd like to congratulate them for all their accomplishments, and wish them the best of luck in the future.
GLVC TOURNAMENT: McKendree heads into the weekend in a four-way tie for ninth place. The Bearcats need to finish in eighth place or higher to qualify for the GLVC tournament.
