Live StatsLive Video(LEBANON, Ill., Sep. 10)- The McKendree University women's soccer team will open up its Great Lakes Valley Conference schedule this weekend. The Bearcats host No. 18 Bellarmine University on Friday, before traveling to University of Southern Indiana on Sunday.
BALANCED ATTACK: The Bearcats have had a balanced offensive attack so far this season with four players scoring goals.
Chelsea Whittaker (Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand/St Hilda's Collegiate School),
Alyssa Reiniger (Maryville, Ill./Collinsville),
Alyssa Patterson (Troy, Ill./Triad) and
Claire Skaggs (Saint Charles, Mo./Duchesne) have all put balls into the back of the net, while Whittaker and Reiniger also each have an assist.
CLEAN SHEET: Goalkeeper
Taylor Zerbe (St. Louis, Mo./Trinity Catholic) posted her first shutout of the season on Monday at Union. She also collected six saves on her way to posting her 13th career shutout to move her into fourth place on McKendree's all-time list.
SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS: Bellarmine enters the weekend ranked No. 18 in NCAA Division II and has an overall record of 3-0. The Knights earned a 1-0 win over Ohio Dominican University on Wednesday, and will be playing their fourth match in eight days on Friday. Bellarmine was picked as the preseason favorite in the GLVC Coaches poll.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES: University of Southern Indiana enters the weekend with an overall record of 1-0-1. The Eagles won their season opener against Northwood University, 1-0, last Friday before playing to a 2-2 draw at University of Findlay on Sunday.
