(LEBANON, Ill., Oct. 24) – The McKendree University women's volleyball team is set to continue Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) competition with a match at Bellarmine University on Friday at 7 p.m. ET and a match at the University of Indianapolis on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET.
The Bearcats took a break from conference play for the Midwest Region Crossover this past weekend in Indianapolis, Ind. McKendree went 2-1 overall at the tournament defeating Ohio Dominican University and Lake Erie College on Friday and then fell to Davenport University on Saturday. The Bearcats are 10-11 overall on the season and 3-4 in the GLVC.
McKendree's lead attackers for the season are junior outside hitter
Elle Russell (Festus, MO/St. Pius X), sophomore middle blocker
Hope Gramly (Prosper, TX/Prosper), and senior outside hitter
Kelly Voss (St. Rose, IL/Mater Dei). Russell has accumulated 227 kills, Gramly has recorded 189 total kills, and Voss is next with 158 kills on the season. Assisting the Bearcats attackers is junior setter
Gracie Marr (Castle Rock, CO/Castle View) who has tallied 722 total assists on the season.
Defensive leaders for McKendree are Voss, Marr, and senior libero
Alissa Zeitelhack (Overland Park, KS/Blue Valley West). Voss is just two digs shy of 200 on the season with 198 digs, Marr is close behind with 172 digs, and Zeitelhack follows with 155 total digs on the season. At the net for the Bearcats defense is Gramly and senior middle blocker
Megan Marks (Colgate, WI/Germantown). Gramly has recorded 90 total blocks on the season while Marks has tallied 75.
After this weekend's competition, McKendree will return home for a four-game GLVC home stand. The first of the four matches will be on Nov. 1 against the University of Illinois Springfield. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
